About Us

JW Physio took over from Carine Physiotherapy Centre in 2022 as a trusted physiotherapy practice for locals in Carine, Karrinyup, Stirling, North Beach, Duncraig, Marmion, Watermans Bay, Hammersley and surrounds.

We welcome a variety of cases from sporting injuries, to chronic conditions, neck and low back pain, and pre and post-operative patients. Management is tailored around a biopsychosocial approach through a balance of manual therapy and individualized exercise rehabilitation, with an emphasis on patient understanding.

JW Physio are partnered with PathDirect, Tailored Fitness Centre, Amana Living, and Brightwater care group.

Exercise rehabilitation
All of our patients receive an individualised exercise based program that is easily accessible by electronic or hard copy, as we believe exercise rehabilitation applies to people of all ages and physical levels.

Balance exercises and retraining proprioception are important at all ages, whether it be from an injured joint recovering or regaining strength and confidence after a fall. Manual Therapy
Manual therapy broadly refers to hands on treatment. Treatment may include moving a joint or body part in a specific direction to restore the mobility and function of this region. Manual therapy may also include stretching, passive movements and other soft tissue techniques such as massage and trigger point release to allow the injured part to restore its function.

We work with patients who are preparing to have surgery and require strengthening and or education about their upcoming surgery. Some people may be trying to prevent or delay a particular surgery such as knee or hip replacement, shoulder surgery and a potential spinal surgery. With improvement in strength and mobility, some people are able to delay these big decisions until they are absolutely necessary. For the post operative patient, we follow surgical protocols given by their specialist and help them to progress through their recovery. We value the time spent answering questions about what to expect, pain they may experience and how to progress them so they may feel independent and in control of their rehabilitation. — Pre/Post operative care
We offer pre and post operative care that ranges from simple education, expectations, and pre-habilitation before surgery, to full 12-month protocol based ACL rehabilitation. Our management is patient foused and surgeon guided for optimal results.

Dry Needling
Dry needling can be used to assist with the treatment of muscular pain and myofascial disruption. It is effective in settling muscle dysfunction that may be related to pain, injury, stress or overuse.

Cupping
Cupping is an adjunct therapy tool that can be used to promote circulation and oxidization of tight muscles and fascia. Through a variety of cupping techniques, it can help to loosen stiff regions and alleviate pain and generalised sensitivity.
